All that would pass into Limsa Lominsa must first pass through Mealvaan's Gate. We levy excises and disallow contraband for the welfare of the market. Trade can only be free when buyers possess the necessary assurances. Without the rule of law, the streets would be overrun by traffickers and cutthroats.
We are always searching for new employees, though we only accept those who exhibit a natural grasp of the arcane arts--a skill essential to the efficient examination of the many ships that frequent Limsa Lominsa. Though it takes many years of training to become a master arcanist, those who are recognized as possessing the Gift will be accepted into our ranks and trained by the finest mages in Eorzea. Upon completion of the training, the adepts will be accepted into our ranks, and given a position within the custom-house.
Etymology
The P before her name denotes her as being of the Basilisk Tribe of Seekers of the SunMiqo'te. Formally, her name would be pronounced Peh-tahjha, but in friendly or colloquial speech the tribe denotation can be left out entirely, leaving it pronounced simply "Tahjha."
Notes
P'tahjha survived the Calamity; in Version 1, she stood at Coordinates X4 Y5 at Mealvaan's Gate.
