Category:Behests

This article has been "archived." The subject of this page was part of the original release of Final Fantasy XIV (1.0-1.23b), and most likely is not part of the current game anymore. If this is an NPC page, then the NAME of this NPC has most likely been re-used by Square Enix and given to a completely different character that has no affiliation with the original.

Behests[edit]

Behests were formerly a type of event similar to a Guildleve that began every half hour at aetheryte camps. They have been removed as of A Realm Reborn.

Behest[edit]

Behests are periodic (every half-hour, leaving 5 minutes after the Behest NPC Appears) level-restricted quests that operate similar to guildleves; however, they do not require one, and thus do not count against your guildleve limit; and adventurers do not have to be in the same group to participate (Though the number of participants allowed is equal to the max size of a party- 8). However, if the players belong to multiple groups, the different parties will not be able to assist each other. Monsters claimed by one group will not be attackable by another.

Players can receive rewards such as items for successfully completing a Behest.

The Flow of a Behest[edit]

  • Once a Behest is available speak to the Battlewarden NPC appearing near the aetheryte or aetherial gate to accept it.
  • Should you desire, you can cancel a behest by speaking with the battlewarden once again.
  • Wait for the entry period to time-out (3 minutes), and when it is time to start, the number and names of the monsters to defeat will appear in a window, much like in a levequest.
  • Once all of the monsters have been vanquished, speak with the Battlewarden (he/she will be located at the last kill spot) to receive your reward.

Skill Points[edit]

  • You gain Skill Points and Experience Points every time an engaged (red name) foe is killed.
  • You DO NOT gain SP/EXP for every unengaged (yellow name) foe that is killed.
  • You gain less SP/EXP if people are attacking 'Yellow' foes before all 'Red' foes are killed.
  • It is advised to NOT use AoE attacks when there are a group of enemies near each other.
