Walkthrough

As the dialogue below says, you'll want to get some Stem Borer bait, and go to the Jadeite Flood fishing spot in New Gridania. The fishing spot is just outside The Roost (the adventurer's guild) to the south of the Gridania Aetheryte Plaza. When it's raining, start fishing and don't stop until you have the 5 Raincallers! Or, if you're impatient like me and can spare the money, pick some up at the closest Market Board.

  • Sisipu directs you to Sybell, who can enlighten you on the nature of the request.
  • Sybell informs you that the five raincallers she seeks can be fished out of Jadeite Flood with stem borers, but only when rain falls.
  • Sybell appears elated at receiving her raincallers, and at the prospect of seeing you again.
  • The next fisherman quest will be available from Sisipu upon reaching level 45.
Dialogue

Accept Dialogue:

Sisipu:
Just the adventurer I was hoping to see! Uncanny timing, as always. The celebrity you've achieved has resulted in more obscure requests than I know what to do with! Your dunefishing escapdes in particular have raised eyebrows. The truly eccentric requests I've had to turn away, but who can say "no" to the Brugaire Consortium? I, for one, cannot, but perhaps you'll have something else to say when you speak with Sybell over there.

You go talk to Sybell.

Sybell:
Ah, PLAYERNAME, I take it? The legends said you were svelte, but failed to mention how voluptuous you are as well. I want you to go down to Jadeite Flood and fish out some raincallers for me, but there's a catch to this catch. The raincallers spend most of their time lying dormant on the bed of the water, aroused only when the rains come. Keep an eye to the skies--you'll need the fish to be aroused, so that they'll bite at the stem borer bait. Though indigenous to Gridania, the fish are prized by wealthy Ul'dahns for possessing certain...properties. And it is the custom of the Brugaire Consortium to fulfill unconventional needs and desired. Five raincallers are all we need to start the Ul'dahn aristocracy eating out of our hands.

Go fishing!

Turn-in Dialogue:

Sybell:
Bring back five raincallers from Jadeite Flood. Trust me, I'll make it worth your while.

You turn in the five Raincallers.

Sybell:
I knew you were the right lass for the job! Who else could deliver such rare and virile specimens? These will suit the Ul'dahns' purposes particularly well. The elder males have been led to believe that indgesting the raincallers will endow them with...let us say "vigor." No one knows whether it is true, and I don't personally care to find out. I only know that rich men will stop at nothing to recapture their former glory, and so these fish should fetch a fair price at market. Speaking of "fetching," I'm quite impressed with your handiwork, PLAYERNAME. The Brugaire Consortium will be pleased. Of course, you've pleased more than just the Consortium. I look forward to seeing more of you.
