I'm afraid you've arrived early, Forename. There is still much to do before preparations are complete.


Yet I cannot stop thinking about Tsukumo's capture. Why strike in Kugane rather than here in Tamamizu? There is little we could have done to stop them had they tried.


Unless... What if this was not the work of the Red as a whole, but a plot by Hirumaki to satisfy his own greed?


Defeating him would be the key to rescuing Tsukumo.


The problem, however, is he is always so heavily guarded.


Our plans and preparation will all be for nothing unless they can be drawn away.

Are you well, Kabuto? It's rather unlike you to call on anyone for help. I suppose next Makura will tell us the striped rays are drowning.
Tsukumo has been taken by the Red, and I mean to rescue him.
So it is true! I had hoped it was only a rumor. But what are we to do? We are not fighters, Kabuto. You would be leading turtles to slaughter.

I realize that, which is why I will not ask you to fight. But I do have a plan that requires your help.


You are perhaps the greatest swimmer the Ruby Sea has ever known, and your knowledge of its currents is unmatched. That is why I would ask you to lead their soldiers on a chase—distract them that I might do battle with their leader alone.

A chase, you say? Hmmm. It should be simple enough to drag those sea slugs through the waves. It might even prove fun.

Sorry to keep you waiting. I thought it prudent we have proper weapons should we be forced to confront the Red, so I made a short trip to visit the Qestir.

I paid a visit to the forge in Kugane, and the young smith—Shihoumi, I believe is her name—insisted she be brought here to prepare for Tsukumo's return. She seemed quite adamant about seeing to his repairs.
Shihoumi! I had nearly forgotten. I know not how to repay you.
When a brother is in need, we help. It's as simple as that.
Just so. In fact, you'll find more of our brothers are waiting for you outside. Everyone is prepared to do their part to see Tsukumo returned safely.

Which is why I scouted ahead, lest we have any unwanted surprises. I overheard the soldiers on watch speaking of Hirumaki.


They say he's been gloating over his latest plunder, keeping it on display at the Air of the Opulent. It has to be Tsukumo.

As I mentioned before, your task will be to circle about the island and draw the attention of as many soldiers as you can.


While they're distracted, Forename and I will sneak onto the island through the Dive.
Today we shall prove the Blue are not to be trifled with.
To the Isle of Zekki!
Kabuto has taken to recruiting our brothers for his attack on the Isle of Zekki? It seems he has learned much from his time away from Tamamizu.

When we reach the Air of the Opulent, I will see to Hirumaki while you retrieve Tsukumo.

Edit A Test of Courage's Dialogue

You'll begin synced to level 60, with the Brilliant Conviction buff. Kabuto Ironshell will join you for this fight. Run forward to Bunchin, Oldest of the Older, and pick up the Blessed Namazu Chime next to him to grant both of you Damage Up and unlock the way onwards.
You'll enter a battlefield. A Red Bukan and Red Hyoe are fighting a Head-headed Blue, a Red Bukan and Striped Ray are on Makura Raykeep, a Striped Ray is on Shikitahe Shellspinner, and a Red Hyoe is on Zukin Shellbreaker. Save them all, and Makura Raykeep will lead you to a Blessed Qestiri Morin Khuur that will grant Rehabilitation (Strong regen) and open the way onwards.
At the crest of the hill you'll encounter two Red Bukan, two Red Hyoe, and a Striped Ray. Simply group them up together and Kabuto Ironshell will ready his limit break, Blue Cut, to take them out. One more of each foe will appear, but repeat the process of grouping them up for his limit again. A final wave of two of each mob will appear, just group them all up in Kabuto's AoE indicator and help AoE them down.
In the next room, you'll approach a pair of Red Bukan, but a hidden pair of Red Honkan will strike from behind, with one of them tethering Kabuto Ironshell to inflict Fetters and Vulnerability Up. Attack the one tethering him ASAP to save him, then mop them up.
After the fight, Makura Raykeep will approach to lead you to one last treasure. The Blessed Hingan Armor will grant you both Vulnerability Down and open the onward. Fully buffed, march onward to your fight with Shaugi Greatshell. He uses the following moves and mechanics:
Ruby Spray: This will summon several AoEs under you, chasing you as you move out of each one. Inflicts moderate damage and Magic Vulnerability Up
Curse of the Tides: Several Tidal Ball adds will appear and ready Splinter, a powerful AoE. You do not need to kill all of them, simply kill the one Kabuto runs towards to create a safe spot to stand in. Getting hit deals heavy damage and Magic Vulnerability Up.
Ruby Rip: A stack mechanic that will be centered on Kabuto. This usually happens after other attacks on you, requiring you to not run too far while dodging the AoEs.
Stench of Death: This will tether you and do more damage the closer you are to Shaugi Greatshell.
Curse of the Tides (25%): At 25% HP he'll cast a special version of Curse of the Tides that creates two Tidal Walls that grant him Invincibility and must be defeated. During this time he'll also spam a heavy AoE called High Tide. Defeat both walls ASAP to stop him.
Seventy-seventh Wave: Used immediately after the Tidal Walls are defeated, this deals heavy damage and knockback.
The most important part of the fight is to avoid letting you or Kabuto get hit by avoidable AoEs. These inflict Magic Vulnerability Up, and as all of Shaugi Greatshell's attacks are magic-based this will make them hurt harder. On the plus side, his reliance on magic means role actions such as Addle or Apocatastasis can help reduce damage, as well as Wanderer's Troubadour if playing BRD.
