Player Versus Player.
Player Versus Player (Commonly read as PvP) duties are events where players are not all fighting on the same side. Generally these are competitive events where the goal is for a player or team of players to get kills, complete an objective, or do something else before the opposing players accomplish the same goal. Unlike other quests or battles, the enemies you face here are other players, who will typically behave very differently from A.I. controlled monsters.

Retainer Ventures.
Players can assign their retainers ventures, which send retainers out into the field to procure items. Retainers may undertake one of several types of ventures, and will be tasked with either obtaining a specified item or left to freely explore the world to obtain items as they see fit. Retainers will receive experience points upon completion of ventures, increasing their level to the same level as the player.

Achievement.
Achievements can be earned by fulfilling specific conditions. Completing achievements earns you "achievement points." For every 50 achievement points you earn you will receive 1 Achievement Certificate. Achievement Certificates can be traded to Jonathas for various items. Certain achievements will award a specific item or items. Those item(s) are typically obtained directly from the Achievement Log, although some iLvl 430 gear is obtained from Grenoldt (via a menu). Finally, certain achievements may provide a reward in the form of a title.

Events.
Occasionally throughout the year certain limited-time events will take place throughout Eorzea. Seasonal Events generally correspond to holidays celebrated in real life in certain parts of the world, and therefore will repeat (with variations) annually. Special Events are unrelated to the world and take place only once (although they may be reprised). All such events generally require only low levels to participate, and generally reward various titles and/or glamour items. Events are typically available for about one (real life) week.
