Exdeath has 2 distinct phases, during which he uses the following moves and mechanics.

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Void Portal Large black and blue void portal to the North of the arena, behind where Exdeath starts the fight. Used to alter Blizzard III, Thunder III, and Fire III when the boss is channeling energy from it, which is obvious as the boss will turn towards the portal and reach out his hand and a blue-black beam will stretch between the portal and his hand.
Doom Marks 2 random players with the Doom debuff, which will instantly kill them when the debuff hits 0. Must be dispelled.
Blizzard III Spawns multiple large AoE circles under random player's feet.
  • Void: Raid-wide damage and Deep Freeze any players who are not walking around for 3 seconds and apply a Vulnerability stack. Players must move their character around while the cast finishes to avoid being frozen.
Thunder III Tankbuster in a moderate sized AoE around the MT. Applies a stack of Lightning Resistance Down that stacks up to 2; tanks should swap at this time unless the healers are up to the task.
  • Void: Massive AoE centered on Exdeath. Applies a 10-second paralysis debuff and a Vulnerability stack. Players must move out of melee range to avoid.
Fire III Marks multiple players with a red marker. After a few seconds, the marked player will be hit with a moderate sized AoE centered on them. Players should spread apart and avoid stacking the markers together.
  • Void: Raid-wide AoE damage and gives each player a 3-second Pyretic debuff, which causes them to take damage constantly while moving or doing an action. Players should sheath their weapons and not move until it goes away to prevent excessive damage.
Vacuum Wave A knockback ability centered on the boss. Knocks players back about 1/4th of the arena. A much bigger deal later when the walls come down.
Holy Obvious stack mechanic.
The Decisive Battle The boss will disappear and a proximity marker will appear in the center of the room. Signals the start of Phase 2.

Advice and Tips

  • You'll need to keep an eye on whether Exdeath is channeling from the Void Portal or not when he uses Blizzard III, Thunder III, or Fire III.

Phase 2

Uses all abilities from Phase 1. The walls will come down at the start of this phase, allowing players to fall off the platform.

Attack Name Description
Creepy Head After the proximity marker from The Decisive Battle goes off, a large, creepy looking face will appear in the center of the arena with a purple puddle around it. Standing in the puddle gives players a Heavy debuff and inflicts them with a DoT. After a few seconds, it will spew gas in a wide cone in front of its face, inflicting Zombification on players that are hit.
Flare Marks three players with the triangular white flare marker. Players must spread apart and move away from the main group to avoid the proximity damage.
Meteor Deals heavy raid-wide AoE damage.
Black Hole The boss will channel from the Void Portal once again, summoning multiple miniature black holes that share a similar appearance with the Void Portal. Players should move away from any that they are standing on or near as it deals near-fatal damage and applies a Vulnerability stack.
The Decisive Battle When he casts this again, he will disappear and a number of vines will spawn in a ring around the center of the room, with a larger gap where there is a missing vine. Players will want to find that gap and stand in it, moving towards the edge as another proximity marker will spawn in the center. After the proximity marker and the vines wide conal AoE go off, players will need to deal with the Creepy Head again.

Advice and Tips

  • Make sure to move to the other side of the Creepy Head's face so you aren't zombified.
  • Keep an eye out for Vacuum Wave so you aren't knocked off the platform.
  • Do your best to avoid standing in Black Holes. Non-tanks can easily die by standing in one of these.
  • Healers will want to ensure players (squishies especially) are topped off before Meteor hits as it takes a significant portion of your health.
