Magitek Rearguard
| ||
---|---|---|
All the moves this boss uses are just telegraphed damage, but it will often use multiple attacks at once. Garlean Fire and the Rearguard Bits are easily telegraphed, but keep an eye out for Rearguard Mines and avoid running into them. Expand for more detailed info including the path to the boss. You'll begin in Ni-no-Kuruwa and encounter a group of a Doman Hoplomachus and two Doman Laquieriuses. You may pull them onwards to the next group, nine Doman Slashers, as well if you wish. The gate will open leading you to a Doman Colossus. It's likely best to fight it where it stands, as if you proceed onward you'll be constantly fired upon by a Doman Gunship using Garlean Fire. Another group of a Hoplomachus and two Laquieriuses later, you'll be able to approach the Gunship and two Doman Sky Armors. Outside of the Gunship's continued use of Garlean fire, they don't use anything too special. Knock them out and make your way into The Third Armory to fight the Magitek Rearguard. The Magitek Rearguard uses the following moves and mechanics: Cermet Pile: Standard conal tankbuster. Just keep the tank topped off and don't point the boss at anyone else. Garlean Fire: Quite similar to the earlier Gunship's AoE, but fires a line of circles. Just dodge to the side of the circle instead of in front of it. There's a big arrow indicator on it to help show where it will go. As the fight goes on he'll begin using two lines side by side. Rearguard Bit: These will be lined up on the edge of the arena firing an unnamed attack for major damage. It's a narrow line across the arena, but occasionally ones next to each other will fire together for a wider beam. Rearguard Mine: Small orange bots will float across the arena, contact will cause them to explode for major damage.

Magitek Hexadrone
| ||
---|---|---|
The main mechanics are Chain Mine and Magitek Missile. Red lasers will mark where Chain Mines will appear, which knock players back and inflict damage if touched. The mine is slightly wider than the laser so watch out. Magitek Missile is a typical "pillar" mechanic that at least one person needs to be standing in to avoid damaging the entire party. These will often be combined so you may need to sprint to reach a missile before the mines go up or immediately after they fade. Expand for more detailed info including the path to the boss. You'll make your way into the flooded Ichi-no-Kuruwa and face a Doman Vanguard. It can be pulled further, but its troublesome AoE attacks likely make it best to fight where it is. In the room the Vanguard came from you'll be attacked by a pair of Doman Canis Pugnax, which are little trouble but can hit the tank for a fair amount with Reckless Charge. The next street has Mark XLIII Field Cannons firing down it. Make your way through the barricades, grabbing the group of two Doman Laquieriuses and a Doman Secutor on the way. The next street is much the same, with a Doman Laquierius, Doman Secutor, and Doman Reaper instead amongst the cannons. The Reaper is the more sturdy and troublesome of the lot, and should be focused first. Once they're all gone, make your way to the Training Grounds and the Magitek Hexadrone. The Magitek Hexadrone uses the following moves and mechanics: Circle of Death: A Circular AoE centered on the boss. 2-tonze Magitek Missile: A simple stack mechanic, just group together to lessen the damage. Chain Mine: A Hexadrone Bit will appear on the edge of the arena and erect a damaging red field across the arena, restricting the area you can safely move in. Standing within will cause it to deal damage and knockback. Magitek Missiles: A pillar mechanic, at least one person needs to stand within to prevent it from damaging the entire party.

Hypertuned Grynewaht
| ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Chainsaw is a channeled move that continuously hits where Grynewaht was facing, so take care not to move back in front of him until the animation ends. Gunsaw meanwhile will target a random player and follow them, so that player should avoid facing it towards their party members. When a player is marked with Thermobaric Charge they should try and drop it as far from the party as possible. Lastly, watch where the Magitek Chakrams appear and try to maneuver into a position where you can easily dodge Clean Cut. Other than that it's nothing you haven't seen before. Expand for more detailed info including the path to the boss. You'll make your way into Tenshu and fight six Doman Shadows inside, then four more and a Doman Hastatus a little ways further. Lastly, you'll enter the Hall of the Four Pillars and fight a Doman Armored Weapon, which uses Diffractive Laser like in the Naadam, as well as the unavoidable AoE Launcher. Two Doman Shadows will spawn at around 90% HP, and two more around 40%. Take them all out to open the way to the Hall of the Scarlet Swallow and the final boss, Hypertuned Grynewaht. Hypertuned Grynewaht uses the following moves and mechanics: Chainsaw: This does repeated damage in front of him when cast. Simply move away once it's done casting to avoid eating all the damage. Delay-action Charge: Two large AoE markers will track a pair of players. Simply move away from other players to avoid harming them when it goes off. Later on in the fight it will target three players at once. Gunsaw: One random player will be targeted by this and continually fired upon. Unlike Chainsaw it will continue to track so there's no avoiding it, but it pierces and will hit anyone in front of or behind you so avoid moving it over your party members. Thermobaric Charge: One player will be marked with a proximity marker that tracks the player. After a few seconds the rings around the player will disappear and the proximity marker will remain there. Whoever's marked should move away from the party to drop it off before rejoining the party. Clean Cut Magitek Chakrams will appear around the edge of the arena, and use this to slice across the arena. Pay attention to where the chakram appear for some forewarning about where to dodge. Chain Mine: Just like Magitek Hexadrone, except the bits are Hypertuned Bits. This will split the arena into four quadrants, and usually used alongside Thermobaric Charge to restrict how far you can drop it if you're not prepared for it.
