Mob Description: A massive hoarhound beholden to Lady Iceheart. With its shimmering hide reminiscent of pale moonlight and a demeanor just as cold, this imposing beast was named after the legendary spirit-hound Fenrir. [1]

Genus Description:
Following the rise of Ishgard, hoarhounds all but disappeared from the Coerthas highlands. However, the shift in climate caused by the Calamity has seen the legendary beasts descend from their mountain dens once more.[2]

Notes
Fenrir uses the following moves and mechanics:
Attack Name Description
Icicles Three icicles will fall from the ceiling; two will land on random players, while the third lands randomly on the arena. The two on random players will send out a line AoE towards a player. The third will explode in an AoE centered on it a few moments later.
Thousand-Year Storm Roomwide AoE. Always occurs on the first set of Icicles and every second occurrence after. Alternates with Lunar Cry.
Lunar Cry Roomwide AoE that can be avoided by hiding behind the third Icicle before it explodes. Always occurs on the second set of Icicles and every second occurrence after. Alternates with Thousand-Year Storm. If you don't hide behind the Icicle during Lunar Cry, you will receive 10 seconds of Deep Freeze and Vulnerability Up and Fenrir will pounce on you, dealing massive amounts of damage.
Ecliptic Bite Used after Lunar Cry on anyone caught in the AoE. Deals massive amounts of damage if you have Vulnerability Up. If no one was in the open, it will only target the tank for a significantly smaller amount of damage.
Heavensward Howl Frontal cleave.

Advice and Tips

  • Keep track of the Icicles so you know which is the safe spot for Lunar Cry.
  • Have the tank keep the boss facing away from the group so party members aren't cleaved by his attacks.
