The eldest son of the famous founder of Gridania and conjury, Jorin Lightheart, I-Ohok-Pota was born in the year 1081 when the city-state was still young. Curiously, the boy had a pair of distinct, round bumps on his head, which grew into horns by the time he reached three years of age.

Even as a child, he displayed the gift of prophecy—foreseeing great rainstorms, blight in the apple orchards, and a plague of catfish—and could hear the very thoughts of the hallowed elementals. The Gridanians soon realized that the boy was a blessing bestowed upon Brother Jorin when Gridania was founded—a bridge between man and elemental—and was celebrated as a child of the gods.

By the age of twelve, Jorin's son stopped aging altogether, and was feared to harbor an unknown sickness. He refuted this, declaring it a sign that the elementals had chosen him as a mediator between the forest spirits and man. He discarded his birth name and took to calling himself I-Ohok-Pota, which he described as the sound made by the aetheric waves when the elementals spoke unto him. Henceforth, Jorin and his children adopted the surname Pota.

In the year 1117, a second horned child was born in Gridania. I-Ohok offered to care for the child, naming him U-Kote-Num. From then on, the horned children of Gridania would be known as Padjal, born to special Midlander families, and raised from youth among others of their kind in Stillglade Fane. The elementals entrusted the Padjal alone with the secrets of the Amdapori magi, carefully instructing them in white magic to give succor and excise taint.

Though he had already served as Gridania's de facto political leader for some time, it was not until 1123 that he officially took up the position at the behest of the Seedseer Council. They officially conferred upon Brother I-Ohok-Pota the title of Elder Seedseer, the first to ever hold the position.

Even after seeing one hundred summers, I-Ohok still resembled a boy of ten. He passed away peacefully in meditation in the year 1353 at the age of two hundred and seventy-two. To the end, he showed no signs of sickness, and is believed to have died of old age.
