King Lalafuto III ruled as the sultan of Belah'dia during the latter half of the ninth century of the Sixth Astral Era. He mysteriously disappeared in the year 871, resulting in his wife Memeto the Meek being crowned sultana after the sultanate's search for him was abandoned in 873. [1] It was said that he left behind a secret treasure, but it was eventually revealed to be little more than a collection of love poems writ to his paramour, with whom he wished to elope. It was long rumored that Memeto had the sultan assassinated, but his poetry implies that he may have simply abdicated the throne to be with the woman he loved. [2]
