Nidhogg
Divider3.png
Nidhogg has 4 distinct phases, during which he uses the following moves and mechanics.

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Breath (?) A frontal cleave that targets the MT. Other players should avoid standing in front.
Deafening Bellow Raid-wide AoE. Deals light damage.
Eyes Large AoEs that spawn under random players. Deal moderate damage and inflict the damaged player with Fear.
Hot Wing Nidhogg will turn to a random player and spawn two massive line AoEs with the safe spot being a strip of space down his center, from front to back.
Hot Tail Nidhogg will turn to a random player and spawn a massive line AoE down his center, from front to back. Safe spots are on his flanks.
Charge Nidhogg will leap away, and reappear along one of the arena edges. A massive line AoE will appear in front of him, going from one side of the arena to the other, and take up about 1/3rd of the arena. He uses Eyes during this.

Advice and Tips

  • If all players stack on his backside, it will be much easier to dodge Hot Wing and Hot Tail and also have the added benefit of making it easier to dodge Eyes.

Phase 2

Add phase. Begins after Nidhogg reaches ~75%.

Attack Name Description
Shadow Dragon Cannot be tanked. Will run around and will do either a frontal cleave or spit fireballs, with only an animation to warn you. Kill first.
Shadow Brobinyak Should be tanked as it hits hard.
Shadow Falak Should be tanked as it hits hard.
Final Chorus Nidhogg's ultimate. Used after all adds are killed or, if not killed in time, to wipe the raid. Deals heavy damage. Indicates start of Phase 3.

Advice and Tips

  • Just kill the Shadow Dragon first so you don't need to worry about being hit by various AoEs by accident.

Phase 3

Nidhogg in "human" form.

Attack Name Description
Ala Morn Heavy damage frontal cleave. Avoid standing in front.
Geirskogul A long line AoE at a random player. Sidestep to avoid.
High Jump 5 players will be marked with large red AoE circles. Players should bring these to the walls and avoid stacking; unmarked players should also move to the walls for Super Jump. Leaves behind a large puddle that gives a bleed debuff and a Nidhogg clone. The clones will each use Geirskogul at a random party member.
Super Jump A proximity marker used after High Jump AoEs have landed. Will target a random player.
Bloodrage Indicates start of Phase 4.

Advice and Tips

  • Make sure to move to the walls for High Jump to make it easier to dodge Super Jump.
  • Don't stand in front of the boss so you aren't hit by Ala Morn.

Phase 4

Nidhogg is back in his dragon form. Uses all mechanics seen in Phase 1 in addition to the ones below.

Attack Name Description
Akh Morn Obvious stack mechanic. Starts off hitting 3 times, but increases by 1 each time it's used. Remain stacked until the hits stop to avoid killing members. If the targeted player dies, it will mark a new player so it's best to remain stacked to avoid killing multiple people.
Flame Orbs Three orbs will spawn in a quadrant of the room (think of the room as a 3x3 grid). After a few seconds, they will glow, and shoot out a slim line AoE in each cardinal direction. Together, the AoE's will cover 1/3rd of the room in each direction they shoot.

Advice and Tips

  • Make sure to stay stacked for Akh Morn. Even if the original marked player dies, stack with others as it will target a new player.
  • Avoid standing in the path of the Flame Orbs. He will often use Hot Wing or Hot Tail during this, so keep an eye on where the safe spot will be.
