Getting Started

Access Eureka upon completion of And We Shall Call It Eureka (Rhalgr's Reach via Galiena).

While technically an instance, it has a few unique rules on entering. First off, you enter by talking to Rodney rather than via the duty finder, and you can enter solo without a queue and find other players inside. In many ways, it is like an open zone, just one that allows you to meet people across the whole data center and with a 3 hour timer.

On your first trip inside you'll be treated to a minor quest, talking to various folks around Port Surgate to get introduced to the various facilities. Once that's done and you have your first piece of magicite, you just need to allocate it and you'll be ready to go.

The Magia Board

Magia Melder

Welcome to your best friend: Magicite and the magia board. By allocating magicite to the board at the Magia Melder in Port Surgate, you can increase your elemental parameters and increase your attack and defense against certain monsters. You begin Eureka with 1 magicite, and will earn more as you perform quests for Krile.

Elemental Relationships

There are essentially two triangles on the board to show the pair of elemental patterns. Lightning is strong against water, which is strong against earth, which is strong against lightning. Fire is strong against ice, which is strong against wind, which is strong against fire. The board UI itself has lines to illustrate this point.

Magia Board

As for how it interacts with enemies, magicite allocated to an element strong against the monster's element (for instance, lightning against a water element monster) will increase your offensive capabilities. Allocating the SAME element (Such as water against water monsters) will increase your defensive capabilities. How you choose to allocate is up to you, but generally it's useful to either put them all in the same node to maximize your benefits, or to split them up in some fashion between nodes two spaces apart to have some offense and defense against a foe.

Lastly, you can freely spin the wheel. This allows you to change your element depending on what you're fighting. This will cost you one Magia Aether (represented by a number in the middle of the board), but only once it "settles". When you spin the board there is a timer that appears, refreshing with each spin. If you spin again before the timer empties, that extra spin costs nothing. This allows you to spin the wheel until it matches up exactly where you want it for just one MA. Lastly, MA fills up slowly over time, and fully refills when checking the Magia Melder. So, in short, allocate for offense, defense, or a mix against a single element, and then spin to match whatever new camp you're at.

Party types

Solo

An option of last resort, albeit one you may need to resort to for your first Protean Crystal to unlock Gerolt's facility (and the option to trade in Amenos Crystals for more). Generally you'll want to target monsters the same level as you, the lowest level you can still get a chain at, and which you should be able to kill fast enough to maintain that chain. You may also want to allocate for a mix of offense and defense with this option, or shore up your weak points (offense for tanks/healers, defense for DPS), to ensure you both survive and kill fast enough to chain. Outside of killing time while asking for a party or getting your first crystal, this is not really recommended.

XP Farm

This is a classic old-school MMO xp farm, just get a group of people (within 2 levels of each other, so 5-7 for instance), find a camp, and start killing things. If you decide to do this, it's generally recommended that the tank focus on defensive magicite, while the rest use offensive magicite and for the love of the twelve dodge every AoE. While your xp will be spread out amongst the party, a party can kill far faster than solo, while also taking on higher level monsters. How high you should go depends on how much magicite everyone has, but it's not unheard of for parties to take on monsters 5 levels above themselves.

NM Farm

The current meta as of the time of this writing, NM farms revolve around joining everyone in the server in spawning the NM FATEs around the instance and taking them down for thousands of xp, anemos crystals, and lockboxes. At a lower level you won't receive the full xp for higher level FATEs, but this is still generally faster than standard XP Farm parties. For all NMs that you receive full credit for (At most 2 levels above?) you'll also receive Amenos Crystals, which can be converted into 2-5 Protean Crystals at Gerolt and tends to be faster than farming them directly, as well as lockboxes which offer up a large variety of items, some of it unique. As your elemental level rises and you receive full credit for more of the FATEs, this option gets better and better, but even right out of the gate it's an effective way to earn xp.

While doing NMs at appropriate levels for the FATE is just like doing any open world NM FATE (know your role, perform certain mechanics as needed, etc.), you'll likely do quite a few NMs far higher level than you as you level up. For these your damage contribution to the boss is likely to be negligible, but healing is not affected very much by being low level, allowing you to still contribute. It's also popular to come as a RDM for Quickcast Verraise, as plenty of other low level players will be around and both the NM and any monsters in the area are likely to one-shot them and you. Tough it out, and you'll be high level in no time.

FATES

Eureka Monster and NM map

All of the FATEs located inside of Eureka: Anemos are NM fates. They can often be be spawned by defeating a specific enemy type at the location of the FATE after a certain amount of time has passed since the FATE was previously active. Some have other conditions that must be met such as time or weather.

Upon completion, the FATE will reward Elemental EXP, Anemos Lockboxes, and Anemos Crystals. Some FATEs also have special rewards such as minions and equipment.
