At the heart of every auspice is a duality: the aramitama, the primal rage; and the nigimitama, the boundless calm. Byakko of the Four Lords is on the verge of being consumed by his aramitama, and should this come to pass, he will forever be no more than a feral beast. And so it falls to you and yours to face the legendary auspice in battle─to quell the madness within and save his soul!

Byakko
Divider3.png
Byakko has 3 distinct phases, during which he uses the following moves and mechanics:

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Heavenly Strike Tankbuster.
Storm Pulse Moderate raid-wide damage.
State of Shock Byakko will pick a random player and grab them in the jaws of his tiger arm, rendering them immobile and untargetable. An obvious stack marker will appear on the other side of the arena, and all players that weren't picked up need to stack there to share the damage as, a few seconds later, Byakko will leap there and slam down the player he picked up. If players don't stack, the player that was picked up will take massive damage and likely die. Followed immediately by Sweep of the Leg.
Sweep of the Leg Immediately after State of Shock. A massive 270° AoE from the front of the boss, with the only safe spot being a large cone behind him. If you are hit by this you will take heavy damage.
Unrelenting Anguish Byakko will jump to the center of the room, and red orbs will spawn beneath him in a slowly swirling pattern. The orbs will continue in a straight line from the boss to the outer edge of the arena. Being hit by an orb does moderate damage. Players will need to deal with Fire and Lightning during this.
Fire and Lightning A purple line AoE that targets a random player. To finish off Unrelenting Anguish, the boss will jump to a random edge of the arena and cast this one more time down the center of the arena.
Hakutei Eventually, the boss will disappear and leave his tiger arm behind, signaling the start of Phase 2.

Advice and Tips

Phase 2

Attack Name Description
Hakutei The white tiger add that signals the start of Phase 2. This must be tanked and faced away from the group as it does frontal cleaves.
Ground AoEs Small AoEs will land on random players; players should step out of these and stay out of them as they will leave a puddle on the ground that inflicts Bleed.
White Herald The Hakutei will leap away and the MT will be marked with an obvious no-stack marker. The marked tank should move away from the group, and the rest of the group should move out of their way as it will deal proximity damage the closer players are. If you are too close, you will die. Followed immediately by Fire and Lightning.
Fire and Lightning Immediately after White Herald. A purple line AoE that targets a random player. Followed immediately by The Roar of Thunder.
The Roar of Thunder Immediately after Fire and Lightning. The Hakutei will begin to slowly cast this spell after jumping to the middle of the arena. The more damage you do to the tiger, the less damage the raid will take. All players will be afflicted with 6 seconds of Down for the Count when it goes off. Signals the start of Phase 3.

Advice and Tips

  • Make sure not to stack for White Herald and get as far as you can so you don't die.
  • Keep the Hakutei faced away from the group so people aren't hit with its frontal cleaves.

Phase 3

Players are unable to attack in this phase, instead endlessly "falling" while dodging various mechanics. You can use your keys to move your falling character around the arena. If you take too much damage, your character will die and you won't be able to move anymore. It is best to look straight down for this phase to easily dodge mechanics.

Attack Name Description
Orbs Purple orbs will spawn below and travel upwards. Keep an eye on where they are rising to (or where you are falling in relation to them?) so that you can avoid them.
Eye of the Storm Byakko will leap into the middle of the arena and spawn a donut AoE, with the safe spot in the middle (centered on the boss).

Advice and Tips

  • Keep looking straight down to more easily dodge mechanics.
  • As you can't use actions during this phase, you can't get heals if you take damage. If you die, your character will float in place with everyone else and you won't be able to move them anymore. After this phase, your dead body will appear back on the platform.

Phase 4

Starts after players land back on the platform after Phase 3. Includes mechanics from Phase 1.

Attack Name Description
Fell Swoop Byakko's ultimate. Used immediately after players are no longer falling.
Hundredfold Havoc A set of 4 orange AoEs with large arrows pointing outwards will spawn in the center of the arena. After a few seconds, another set of 4 will appear in the spaces between the original set. The first set will explode and deal moderate lightning damage and apply Paralysis, and the AoE will continue on its way to the outer edge, overlapping with the original AoE marker. The two sets will alternate exploding. Bombogenesis occurs during this.
Bombogenesis Occurs during Hundredfold Havoc. Four random players will be targeted with large orange AoEs. Spread these apart so players aren't taking extra damage.
Distant Clap A massive donut AOE centered on the boss. The safe spot is under him, inside his hitbox, or at max distance if the boss is against a wall.

Advice and Tips

  • After the initial AoEs of Hundredfold Havoc goes off, players can step into the center where they were to avoid the upcoming hits. Alternatively, players can squeeze into the small spaces between the lines the 8 AoEs make as they travel.
  • Be careful not to overlap Bombogenesis while dodging all of the AoEs.
