The Pool of Tribute.png
Your efforts to wreak havoc on the Isle of Zekki and draw the Red Kojin away from their imperial masters have exceeded all expectations. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond your knowing, two of the sacred treasures stored in the isle's vault "reacted" to the presence of the Yasakani-no-Magatama, summoning forth from the aether the great kami Susano─a primal by another name. How fortunate that you had the wisdom and foresight to invite several of your fellow adventurers on this journey to the Far East, and how kind they were to agree to help you torment the Red Kojin, for no single warrior, no matter how blessed or powerful, could ever hope to slay a primal on own, despite what some wandering minstrels would have you believe.

Susano
Divider3.png
Susano has has 3 distinct phases, during which he uses the following moves and mechanics:

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Assail Non-telegraphed tankbuster. Used after each set of mechanics.
Rasen Kaikyo Targets several random players with large AoEs and inflicts high damage and lightning resistance down if it hits.
Yato No Kagami One player will be marked with a red marker, and will be knocked away. Immediately followed by Brightstorm.
Brightstorm The player targeted by Yato No Kagami will be targeted with an obvious stack mecahnic that goes off after a few seconds. Gap closers or Rescue are useful to get back to the group.
Yasakani No Magatama Summons a Dark Cloud at the edge of the arena. As the fight goes on more will be summoned, up to three.
The Parting Clouds Used by the Dark Clouds, targets an arena-length line AoE at a random player. Inflicts heavy damage and paralysis. Multiple clouds will all target the same player, and as the fight goes on they will fire several times in a row, up to three, before disappearing. The same player will be targeted for all three strikes, so if you're targeted for the first one you can keep lure them where others won't need to move.
Seasplitter "The seas part for we alone!" One random player will be targeted for Yato no Kagami and Brightstorm as usual when he says this, but he'll also combine it with Seasplitter, which will strike the entire arena except for a small line that goes between and through Susano and the marked target.

Advice and Tips

  • The most difficult part is dodging Seasplitter, which players can avoid by staying in melee range to easily move into the safe spot and also by making sure everyone stacks together.
  • At 60%, he will leap away and Phase 2 will begin.

Phase 2

Attack Name Description
Ame-no-Murakumo Both the name of the sword and the move it uses, one tank will need to activate the Blade's Shadow to receive the Clashing buff and enter an Active Time Maneuver. The player will need to spam their Duty Action button to hold the sword at bay and keep it from crushing the group and causing a wipe. Everyone else must attack and kill the sword before the Active Time Maneuver runs out of time, about 20 seconds. He will use this twice. The third time he uses this will be unblockable with a large line AoE on the ground, signaling the start of Phase 3; any players caught in it will instantly die.
Sheer Force Moderate raid damage done by Susano every so often.
Shock Used by the Dark Levins around the edge of the arena. These will slowly float to the center of the arena and use this when they collide with a player in a small AoE around them. The other tank should run around and pop these, as the damage is not reduced by stacking.

Advice and Tips

  • One tank will hold the Ame-no-Murakumo at bay while the other deals with the Dark Levins floating around the room while everyone else focuses down the sword.
  • After the second time killing the Ame-no-Murakumo, a line AoE will appear down the middle of the arena. Make sure not to stand in it so you aren't killed by the AoE.

Phase 3

Uses almost all mechanics found in Phase 1.

Attack Name Description
Stormsplitter Tankbuster. Replaces Assail and hits harder.
The Hidden Gate "Earth and stone at our beck and call!" One player will be encased in an Ama-ho-iwato. Two others will also be summoned, the three will be shuffled, and the party will need to slay the correct one to free them in time. It is extremely easy to tell which rock the player is trapped in based on the aggro list: the rock will always be the one that is either directly above Susano on the list or the one at the very bottom of the list if there are no rocks above him on the list.
Sealed Gate Used by Ama-ho-iwato to kill the trapped player.
Ukehi Raidwide AoE damage.

Advice and Tips

  • A visual guide for determining which Ama-ho-iwato has the trapped player:

  • Phase 3 is very similar to Phase 1, just with heavier damage and the need for extra shields and heals.

Etymology
Divider3.png
Three of the attacks used—Yato-no-Kagami, Yasakani-no-Magatama, and Ame-no-Murakumo—are based on the three sacred treasures of Japan, and are also the three treasures that combined to form Susano. Susano himself is a god of sea and storms from Shinto mythology, and found the Ame-no-Murakumo in Orochi's tail after slaying him.
