A pale tower looms over the Duergar Mountains, an unmistakable symbol of the machine lifeforms' threat to the dwarves and their world. At Anogg's behest, you join her and your android allies in an ascent to its zenith, where the machines' enigmatic orb─and its fearsome secrets─await.

Attack Name Description
Roar Heavy raidwide AoE damage.
Colossal Impact Line AoE mechanic that differs depending on the animation.
  • Glowing red face: line AoE down the center third of the arena. Stand on the outer edges to avoid.
  • Boss backs up with hands clenched: line AoEs down the left and right thirds of the arena. Stand in the center lane to avoid.
Magic Artillery Beta Tankbuster. Affects the tank in each alliance. Deals heavy damage to tanks; will oneshot anyone else. Use mitigation!
Replicate Makes 1-2 clones of itself. Followed by Stacking the Deck.
Stacking the Deck After Replicate. The main boss tethers to each of its clones, with the boss having a 1 marker and the clones having the 2 and 3. The boss will then use an ability, and the clones will use the same ability afterwards, in the order indicated by the markers. If the ability has variations, the clones can use those variations. Can be followed by either Colossal Impact or Lunge.
Spheroids Has two variations:
  • Summons several untargetable adds near the front and back of the room. After a short time, they will fire a red orb in a random direction. Touching the orb deals damage in a small AoE and applies a Vulnerability stack to anyone hit.
  • Summons several untargetable adds at the edges of the room. They will shoot line AoEs across the room, leaving strips of safe space between them, quickly followed by an additional line AoE in what was originally the safe strips. Identify the initial safe area, then sidestep into the AoE after it has gone off to avoid being hit.
Magic Artillery Alpha Marks multiple players with large AoE circles. Spread out and avoid overlapping other players to prevent excessive damage.
Light Leap Two proximity markers appear on the platform at the beginning of the cast. Midway through, a few large square AoE markers appear. After completing the cast, the boss becomes untargetable and leaps onto the platform, dealing damage to all players and causing the square AoEs to resolve as large Cube Blocks. (Standing in the square AoEs is probably instant death.) Can be followed by Replicate & Lunge.
Cube Blocks Cannot be walked through; used to be knocked back to and prevent falling off the arena during Lunge.
Lunge A raidwide knockback that pushes the player across the entire arena. Stand with your back to a Cube Block to avoid falling off. Spawns fresh Cube Blocks after casting.

Advice and Tips

  • The boss can use a combo of Replicate with 2 clones, Colossal Impact, Spheroids, and Magic Artillery Alpha. Handle the Colossal Impacts first, then loosely spread to make it easier to avoid overlapping Magic Artillery Alpha while dodging the Spheroids.
  • The boss can also use a combo of Replicate, Lunge, and Colossal Impact that can feel tricky to handle. Put your back to the first Cube Block to avoid the first Lunge, then identify where the Colossal Impact will strike and position yourself to be knocked back to a Cube Block in the safe spot.
  • Where there are 2 clones from Replicate, keep track of which is second and third so you aren't accidentally hit by one of the AoEs while trying to dodge the wrong one.

This boss requires two tanks, one on each boss. The third tank should be ready to take over in case one of the other tanks dies.
Attack Name Description
Upgraded Shield/Lance One boss will use Upgraded Shield while the other will use Upgraded Lance. They will alternate as the fight goes, with Upgraded Shield being used on whichever has the lower health. If they are brought close together while these buffs are active, they will tether and take on the effects of both buffs. Moving them far enough apart will undo this effect.
  • Upgraded Shield: Decreases damage taken. Reflects damage dealt when attacking from the back and flanks.
  • Upgraded Lance: Deals increased damage.
Crippling Blow Tankbuster. Used in conjunction with Wail.
Wail Raidwide AoE. Used in conjunction with Crippling Blow.
Seed of Magic Alpha Drops AoEs on random players. Used in conjuction with Riot of Magic.
Riot of Magic Marks a player with an obvious stack mechanic. Used in conjuction with Seed of Magic Alpha.
Wandering Trail Spawns multiple glowing chakrams around the edge of the arena; 4 move clockwise, while the other 4 move counterclockwise. Standing in them deals constant moderate damage. Can also move inwards and through the center of the arena to the other wall, where they will then disappear. Followed by Tandem Assault: Breakthrough or Hungry Assault.
Tankdem Assault: Bloody Sweep The bosses will charge away to one side of the room. Followed up with Bloody Sweep.
Bloody Sweep Two variations of this ability: tethered and non-tethered.
  • Non-tethered: The bosses lances will be pointed in a similar direction and glowing. At the end of the cast, they will do a massive AoE across the side with the glowing axe. Identify what side will be hit by the AoE and move to the safe spot, which should be a triangle of space either between them or across from them.
  • Tethered: the bosses repeat the non-tethered portion, but at the end of the cast switch places, reversing the safe spot. Identify what spot will be hit, then move into it as they will switch.
Tandem Assault: Passing Lance The bosses will charge away to one side of the room. Followed up with Passing Lance.
Passing Lance Summons multiple red orbs in the center of the arena, with a noticeable gap somewhere along its length. At the end of the cast, the bosses will charge through the center of the arena to the other side, dealing damage to any players in their path, and causing the red orbs to explode, dealing damage in thin line AoEs from one side of the arena to the other. To resolve, players must find the gap and stand on the edges of the arena within it.
Tandem Assault: Breakthrough The bosses will charge away to opposite sides of the room. Followed up with Breakthrough.
Breakthrough The bosses will go untargetable and hold their lances facing the same wall and a proximity marker will appear in the center of the arena. At the end of the cast, they will charge towards each other and cleave the side of the room the lances are facing, and meet in the center of the arena, dealing massive to lethal damage to all players caught in the lance cleave or too close to the center. Being hit by both is certain death.
Hungry Assault The bosses move to the center of the room and face opposite directions, then use a massive frontal cone AoE, leaving a small triange of safe space to either side of them to avoid being hit.
Seed of Magic Beta Drops AoEs on random players. Used by both bosses at the same time. Sometimes followed by Hungry Assault.
Lamentation Used by the remaining boss after one dies. Drops multiple AoEs on random players.

Advice and Tips

  • The bosses should be kept separate from each other, as they can tether and buff each other.
  • Try to kill them at the same time; when one dies, the other will enrage, spamming AoEs and raidwides until it dies or the alliance wipes.
  • Try to keep people clustered together during Lamentation so there is more space available to attack the boss.

This boss has 3 phases, during which it uses the following moves and mechanics.

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Cruelty Indicates a new "phase". Deals moderate AoE damage.
  • The boss moves to the Northwest and an orange border and orange square appear in the center of the arena. Uses Barrier, Shockwave, and Point.
  • The boss moves to the North of the arena. Uses Barrier, Shockwave, and Meteor.
Shockwave Marks players with either a white or black AoE. Has an obvious countdown to display when it will go off. Avoid overlapping other players to prevent excessive damage. Used to break Barriers.
Generate: Barrier Summons lines of alternating black and white cubes in a cross shape through the center of the arena. Can also form a box in the center of the arena, where players will be sucked into and trapped.
  • White aoes break Black Cubes but cannot pass through White Cubes.
  • Black aoes break White Cubes but cannot pass through Black Cubes.
Point: White/Black White and black markers will appear on either the same side of the arena, or opposite sides of the arena and alternating across from each other. After a short time, they will shoot out line AoEs that are as wide as 3 Barrier cubes, breaking opposite coloured barriers and only stopping when they hit a Barrier of a matching colour. Deals moderate damage and applies a Vulnerability stack. To handle, players should find an AoE that will hit a matching barrier and stand behind that barrier.
Recreate: Meteor Immediately after the box version of Generate: Barrier. Summons a black or white marker in the center of the Barrier box. Immediately followed by Shockwave of the opposite colour of the Meteor. Players with shockwave must break out their fellow players and then hide behind the safe barrier to avoid being oneshot.
Manipulate Energy Tankbuster. Affects the tank in each alliance; if one is dead, will pick a random party member. Deals heavy damage to tanks; will oneshot anyone else. Use mitigation!
Replicate Summons 9 untargetable mini-clones with orange clockwise or blue counterclockwise indicators along with a 120° frontal cone AoE. After a short time, the AoE markers will disappear and the clones will use the AoE and then turn in the direction of their indicator ~6 times (2 full turns). There is no persistent safe spot; pick a clone and move with them to avoid damage.
Sublime: Transendence Marks the start of Phase 2. Deals moderate damage and the boss disappears.

Advice and Tips

  • While Replicate looks extremely difficult to handle, the easiest way is to pick a clone and stick close to it while it rotates.

Phase 2

Changes each player into a Nier Hacking Program with 2 abilities: Liminal Fire and Program: #000000/#FFFFFF.

  • Program causes the player to change to the opposite of their current colour, either white or black (also displayed on the action).
  • Liminal Fire deals damage that matches the current color of the player.
Attack Name Description
Black/White Wall An opportunity to familiarize yourself with Liminal Fire and Program. Hit the walls with opposite colors to break them.
Red Sphere Uses Wave: White and Wave: Black. Players must be in the matching color at the end of the cast to prevent damage. Can be attacked with either colour.
White/Black Pylons Use Big Explosion. Must be hit by an opposite color to kill.
  • Big Explosion: deals moderate damage and applies a Vulnerability stack.

Advice and Tips

  • Quickly break the Pylons with the opposite color to avoid taking damage.
  • Be in the matching color as the Wave to avoid taking damage.
  • Continuously attack the Red Sphere in whatever Program you're currently using.
  • If you don't kill it in time, your party will wipe. Other parties will not be affected by your groups failure (except having to res you).

Phase 3

Repeats certain mechanics fromPhase 1. The boss will remain stationary in her new big girl form at the North of the arena.

Attack Name Description
Cruelty Same as previous with a new mechanic.
  • Summons Pylons in various patterns. The edges of the arena and a square in the center are orange death zones. Uses Child's Play.
  • Summons a Barrier with a solid black line and a solid white line going through the center of the arena. Uses Barrier, Point, and Meteor.
  • Summons 3 untargetable big girl clones at the other cardinal points of the arena. Uses Replicate', Child's Play on the Replicate clones, and Manipulate Energy.
Child's Play Forced March mechanic. The boss tethers a number of players to her and pointing arrows around where the chains meet indicate what direction players will forced to move in. You will move a little more than half the arena when she does this, so you'll want to stand in the Pylons to walk into the non-pylon safe area if you are tethered.
Point: White/Black White and black markers will appear on opposite sides of the arena and alternating across from each other. After a short time, they will shoot out line AoEs that are as wide as 3 Barrier cubes, breaking opposite coloured barriers and only stopping when they hit a Barrier of a matching colour. Deals moderate damage and applies a Vulnerability stack. To handle, players should find an AoE that will hit a matching barrier and stand behind that barrier.
Recreate: Meteor Summons two metors in opposite corners, one white and one black. During this time Point will break the barriers until there is only one safe quadrant remaining. Line yourself up to hide from both meteors behind the remaining walls to live.

Advice and Tips

  • If the arrows during Child's Play are all pulsing towards the center of the chains, it means you will walk towards her. If they are pulsing away from the center of the chains, you will walk away from her.
  • To identify the safe spot during Meteor in this phase, it will be the quadrant that has has no meteor and has matching colors to the meteors on either side of it.
  • If the boss uses Replicate and then Child's Play, she will move the Replicate clones around the arena. Keep an eye out, as the previous safe spots may no longer be safe after she does this.

This boss has two phases, during which it uses the following moves and mechanics.

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Screaming Score Moderate raidwide AoE damage.
Made Magic The boss summons a red circle in front of her that slowly rotates. At the end of the cast, she cleaves two thirds of the room with an AoE, with the cleave going in the direction that the circle is spinning.
Lighter Note Summons three AoEs that follow a random player. The AoEs have either East/West or North/South pointing markers on them. Eventually they will turn red and stop following the player. After a short time, they will detonate, sending two AoEs in the directions marked on the original AoE. Try to drop these towards the corners of the Arena so it's easier to dodge.
Rhythm Rings Summons multiple rings at the front of the arena. Red orbs will slowly drift down towards a ring. When an orb touches a ring, it shoots out a laser line AoE through that portion of the arena. Stand in front of the rings that have later orbs and dodge into spots that have been hit by the laser beam already to resolve.
Seed of Magic Targets random players with AoE markers.
Darker Note Large AoE tankbuster. Affects the tank in each alliance. Deals heavy damage to tanks; will oneshot anyone else. Use mitigation!
Eminence Used around ~50%. Indicates the start of Phase 2. Knocks all players to the edges of the arena and prevents movement.

Advice and Tips

  • Watch the direction the Made Magic circle is spinning to know where to go to avoid the damage.

Phase 2

It is possible to fall off the arena in this phase. Uses Lighter Note, Darker Note, Screaming Score from Phase 1.

Attack Name Description
Pervasion Transforms the floor. Makes it mostly transparent so you can see below. Followed by Recreate Structure.
Recreate Structure Immediately after Pervasion. Summons a large rectangular building below the arena. After a short time, it will fly up through the platform and fling any players caught in it out of the arena. Players must look down through the floor to figure out where it will hit and then move to the safe spots. The floor will return to normal after this mechanic ends.
Recreate Signal Has 2 variations.
  • Summons 5 train tracks running from East to West across the arena. Followed by Mixed Signals.
  • Summons 1 set of tracks to the north, outside of the platform, and summons a train with Mixed Signals, which brings Red Girls to the platform.
Mixed Signals Immediately after Recreate Signal. Three train tracks will have a green light and 2 will have a red light. Stand on the tracks with the red light to avoid being run over by a literal train. The floor will return to normal after this mechanic ends.
Heavy Arms Has two variations. Deals heavy to lethal damage if hit.
  • Rock Arms: Summons rocks that stick to her arms. At the end of the cast, does a massive cleave to her left and right.
  • Rock Pillar: Summons rocks that the boss leans on. At the end of the cast, does a massive cleave from the boss' front the back, the same width as her hitbox.
Distortion Marks each player with a black and white ring, with the black at the front and the white at the back. Immediately followed by The Final Song.
The Final Song Immediately after Distortion. Summons a large marker in the center of the arena. At the end of the cast, rings will appear and fall towards the floor that are either black or white. Players will need to turn their face towards the center for the black rings, and their backs towards the center for the whiterings. Facing the wrong side to the center deals moderate damage and applies a Vulnerability stack. The marker will disappear when the mechanic is resolved.
Pillar Impact Summons two giant pillars of rock one after the other. After a short time, the first one will hit the ground, knocking players back about 3/4ths of the arena. Shortly after that, the second one will hit the ground, knocking players again another 3/4ths of the arena. Stand in front of the first pillar to be knocked towards the second, and then in front of the second to be knocked back towards the first, to avoid falling and dying. Followed by Towerfall.
Towerfall Immediately after Pillar Impact. The two towers will tilt dangerously in a random direction. After a short time, they will fall entirely, dealing lethal damage to anyone caught in them. Do not use their shadows to adjust your position as the pillars will fall in the direction they are leaning in, not where their shadows are.
Red Girls Summoned with a variation of Recreate Signal. The boss will anchor herself at North for this mechanic. Starts with a few and more appear as the mechanic continues. They will shoot a slow moving orb into the arena and then shift to another location along the north wall of the arena. Often paired with Distortion, Heavy Arms, and Lighter Note.

Advice and Tips

  • Recreate Structure should always appear in the center and spin on its axis from there, so the center is never safe. Find the longer side and stand alongside it on the platform to hopefully stay safe.
  • The boss will stay anchored during Red Girls. The main tank may find it easier to stand parallel with the north wall to make it easier to dodge the orbs, and be able to walk East & West without causing the boss to spin for the melees.
