Brute Justice has 4 distinct phases, during which the fight will consist of the following moves and mechanics.
Phase 1: Onslaughter
Attack Name |
Description
Perpetual Ray
Tankbuster. Inflicts Magic Vulnerability Up on the main tank. Tank swap once this starts casting.
Mega Beam
Turns to face a random player and shoots an unmarked line AoE in their direction. Players should move out of the direction it's facing by running to the side to avoid Vulnerability Up.
Execution
Four adds appear in each corner and must be killed quickly or they inflict Damage Down and Vulnerability Up on the whole raid. Each DPS may want to pick their corner in advance.
Discoid
Four orbs tether to random players, inflicting Vulnerability Up and likely killing their target if they reach the tethered player. Other players should run into the tethered players' orbs while they are far away from the orb; they explode in a small AoE, dealing moderate damage to players caught in it.
Advice and Tips
- If you are not sure if you're in the way of Mega Beam, move further to the side anyways.
Phase 2: Brawler & Vortexer
Vortexer spawns on the West side and Brawler spawns on the East side.
Attack Name |
Description
Vortexer
Spawns on the West side of the arena. Uses Ice Missile, Fire Pool, and Super Cyclone.
Brawler
Spawns on the East side of the arena. Uses Single Buster and Double Buster.
Ice Missile
Used by Vortexer. AoEs follow random players, dropping ice pools when they impact. Spread out to avoid hitting other players.
Fire Pool
Used by Vortexer. Targets random players with AoEs. After a few seconds, they will go off, leaving behind lava puddles that deal continuous damage to players standing in them.
Super Cyclone
Used by Vortexer. Group-wide AoE and knockback. Avoid standing in front of a Fire Pool.
Single Buster
Used by Brawler. Gun on one arm - heavy damage to the main tank, get ready with heals and mitigation.
Double Buster
Used by Brawler. Gun on both arms - Distributed damage in a line AoE targeted at a random player, everyone (including tanks) stand behind Brawler in a single line to share the damage.
Advice and Tips
- Killing Brawler first means players don't need to worry about the stacking mechanic Double Buster so they can worry more about dodging AoEs.
- Buster abilities will often happen during Vortexer using his own AoE abilities, making it difficult for players to stack.
Phase 3: Blaster & Swindler
Attack Name |
Description
Blaster
Spawns on the North side of the arena. Uses Mirage and Mine.
Swindler
Spawns on the South side of the arena. Uses Height and Enumeration.
Mirage
Used by Blaster. Blue markers appear over 4 players, then a Blaster Mirage clone appears at each marker. Check which direction the clones are facing to avoid standing in line with their Supercharge.
Mine
Used by Blaster. Blaster fires missiles upwards, then AoE indicators appear and mines spawn where they impact. Stepping on a mine will cause knockback and inflict Paralysis and Vulnerability Up on the group.
Height
Used by Swindler. Half of the platforms on the floor become slightly raised in a checkerboard pattern, and each player is inflicted with a debuff that causes damage and Vulnerability Up if the player is standing at the wrong height:
- Low Arithmeticks: Red debuff. Stand on a raised platform to gain the effects of Magnetic Levitation.
- High Arithmeticks: Purple debuff. Stand on a low platform to remain on the ground.
Enumeration
Used by Swindler. An obvious stack marker appears around a player with a random number of orbs spinning above it. The number of players standing in the AoE (including the player it's following) must match the number of orbs or it inflicts damage and Vulnerability Up.
Advice and Tips
- Best to kill Swindler first so you don't have to keep an eye on your debuffs for Height or worry about managing Enumeration properly.
- If you are unsure if you're out of the way of the Mirage, it's best to move further to the side to be sure.
Phase 4: Brute Justice
Brawler, Blaster, Swindler, & Vortexer join forces with Onslaughter and become a giant mech Power Rangers style. Uses various abilities from Phase 1-3.
Attack Name |
Description
Short Needle
Moderate raid-wide AoE damage.
Flarethrower
Wide conal AoE that targets the MT. Keep faced away from the group.
Double Rocket Punch
Shared Tankbuster. Both tanks should stand in front to share the damage.
Short Needle
Random, unmarked AoEs across the platform. Possible to get lucky and not be hit at all, but don't count on it. Deals moderate damage.
Long Needle
Obvious stack mechanic. Followed by either Apocalyptic Ray or Super Jump.
Apocalyptic Ray
The boss turns to face a random player and begins casting this. After a few seconds, a ~120° unmarked AoE will appear from his front, dealing moderate continuous damage to any players standing in it. Players should immediately move behind the boss to avoid dying.
Super Jump
AoE aimed at the furthest player. That player should stand away from the rest of the group.
J Kick
The boss will leap away and land in the center of the arena, dealing proximity damage. Afterwards, Brute Justice splits up and does a series of mechanics from the individual mechs, so spread out to handle them appropriately but line up again for Brawler's Double Buster.
Advice and Tips
- A tank should run away after Long Needle to bait Super Jump.
- After J Kick is a bunch of mechanics you've seen throughout both this fight and Alexander - The Cuff of the Son. Just dodge the AoE's accordingly and remember to stack for Double Buster at the end of the nonsense.
