You'll begin in The Rise of Bardam the Brash with a first group of three Halgai Shoots, though you can likely grab the second group of two Halgai Shoots and a Canyon Dzo. A wandering Greater Gulo Gulo is a little further on and if you're not careful can aggro while you're attacking the previous groups (Or can be fought alongside these). After these it's just a short walk to The Dusk Trial where you must defeat two Wall of Bardam. Epigraph hits for a decent chunk of damage, and every so often the Dusk Visage (the wall blocking the way) will cast The Dusk Star, a circular AoE. There's technically nothing stopping you from pulling everything this far, but it's likely suicidal, so make two pulls.

After the trial will be another pack of two Halgai Shoots and a Canyon Dzo alongside a wandering Greater Gulo Gulo, and then you will enter The Dawn Trial. This is much like the previous trial, except there are now three Wall of Bardam and you now have The Dawn Visage casting The Dawn Star, which is the exact same as their Dusk counterparts. Finish and you'll pass through to Bardam's Hunt and Garula.

• Essentially the hardest part of this fight is just making sure to move as far away as possible for Rush.
• While you can try to minimize the number of critters that attack by purposely moving Garula to avoid them, the massive range of War Cry makes this unfeasible, so try to just avoid the coeurls.

Chest

Unlike other bosses, you do not attack Bardam. He uses certain attacks in a certain order over three waves. If you get hit twice, you're out of commission for that wave. If all four players are knocked out at any time, you lose. If any one player makes it through all three waves, you win. Also, if you're looking in the battle log, Travail is the move Bardam uses to start off each attack round.

The first wave will begin with him summoning a Hunter of Bardam that first uses Magnetism to draw you to the middle and do two AoEs, one to the middle and one to the outer ring, and then Empty Gaze, which is a gaze attack. Simply stand in the outer ring right near the break, and after the first AoE goes off, move to the middle and then turn away from the Hunter of Bardam to negate the gaze attack. Bardam's next attack will see several Throwing Spears line up along the edge and Charge across to form a grid with some safe spaces. This will strike several times, alternating which row and column they cover. Just move between the safe spaces, knowing that any square where the paths intersect will be safe on the next charge. The Hunter of Bardam will also be using Empty Gaze during this, so begin by moving towards it before moving from safe spot to safe spot away from it so you aren't looking at it.

The start of the second trial will see Bardam use Sacrifice, summoning three pillars. At least one player needs to be standing in each circle around the pillars. His next attack, Bardam's Ring, will first target two players with large, donut-shaped AOEs. To make sure no one is hit, the group should run toward each other and wait for the AOEs to strike. Afterwards, all players will be marked for an attack and should immediately spread out again. A few seconds later, a Comet AOE will appear beneath your feet, followed by more then chase you around the arena, much like Ifrit's Eruptions, so take care to keep moving and do not chase your party members; just run in circles within the quadrant you're standing in. Immediately afterwards, the Hunter of Bardam will face a random direction and begin using Heavy Strike, which is a circular AoE except on his rear. It strikes in several bits like Magnetism did, so if you're nowhere near his rear it's possible to stand at the divider and dodge between when it fires, but it's easiest to just be near the Hunter when Bardam's Ring ends. Lastly, he'll use Comet Impact, which is four large AoE circles. There's always a safe spot on top of the Hunter of Bardam, so just run up and give him a hug.

Advice and Tips

• Overall, a very simple fight; the most complicated part is just avoiding stacking Flutterfall.
• If you have an AoE LB, it may be best to save that for the wings, and high damage can push phases rather hard as there is both a time and HP component to its phases. A melee LB may be best used to finish the Yol off at low HP to try and skip the wing phase entirely.
