Funguar inhabit The Black Shroud, and other forested areas within Eorzea. They can release an immense cloud of spores, which it is said can have a variety of detrimental effects on humans. However, Funguar can safely be eaten if prepared properly, and Funguar bulbs can be quite the delicacy.

These ambulatory fungi are most commonly encountered in the damp environs of dense forests and limestone caverns. Possessed of a unique texture and taste, funguar caps are considered a delicacy among Eorzean gourmands. Despite their extreme sensitivity to arid conditions, offshoots of the funguar family have been found in regions across the world, prompting much scholarly debate over their method of diffusion. [1]

"A funguar is a nesh plant of a beastes kind, wide in the overmost part, thin in the nethermost. Its fumosities are grievous and noyful to divers things and such venom is perilous and exiteth palsy or slumber ere speedeth a man to death-ward. Culinarians covet the caps of funguars for it is said there is no plant more savoury in all of Eorzea."
