The ochu is a variety of carnivorous seedkin that inhabits the forested regions of Aldenard. It lures insects and small animals within range of its powerful vines by emitting a sickly-sweet or rotten odor from its scarlet petals, then bludgeons them into a stupor. Thus subdued, prey are typically ingested over a period of several bells. Though too bitter to eat raw, when dried, ochu leaves can provide a flavorful accent to fish and meat dishes. [1] |
