These second-generation chimeras were developed out of pure hubris in an attempt to recreate beings which, until that time, had existed merely in folklore—the mythical constructs of the divine. Much to the chagrin of their creators, several of the pegasi escaped their pens soon after their unholy breeding, and took to the skies of the Sea of Clouds to once again become the stuff of legend.
