Armor
Armor can be worn on various parts of the body for protection and to enhance various stats. The different places/types of armor that can be worn are listed to the right.

While some equipment can be purchased from vendors, most is obtained through crafting or via drops from various Quests and Battles.

Weapon
Relic Weapons
Equipping a particular type of weapon will grant you access to the abilities of a certain class. Equipping a Soul Crystal associated with a class will allow access to the abilities of a certain job.

Weapons can be either one-handed or two-handed. When equipped with a two-handed weapons, the shield slot cannot be utilized.

Tool 		Tools, like weapons, define a character's development. Equipping a tool allows access to the abilities of a certain job class of the Disciples of the Hand and Disciples of the Land Disciplines.
Food Icon.png
Meal 		Food, like Medicine, can be consumed to provide temporary boost to various stats. Food is crafted exclusively by the Culinarian class and lasts 30 minutes. Food boosts are generally increased by a percentage, with a capped upper bonus, although some lower level foods will boost stats by a set value.
Medicine Icon.png
Medicine 		Medicine, like Food, can be consumed to provide temporary boost to various stats. Medicine is crafted exclusively by the Alchemist class and typically lasts only a few seconds, although a few medicines (non-battle related) will last up to 30 minutes. Medicine boosts are generally increased by a percentage, with a capped upper bonus, although some medicines simply grant an effect or resistance.

Material 		Materials are primarily used in the crafting of other items. All crafting recipes require Materials, but not all Materials can be used in recipes.

Gear & Glamour Sets 		A Gear Set is a set of numerous pieces of themed armor that shares a few things in common. They tend to all be equipped at approximately the same level or share an iLevel, by the same class or job. The set pieces will also generally share similar naming conventions.
A Glamour Set is a specific type of armor set that is equipped for visual purposes only. It could be a combination of various unrelated pieces of gear that are intended to express a certain theme or visual appearance, or a specific set by Square Enix for its visual effects.

Furniture Sets 		A Furniture Set is a set of numerous pieces of themed furniture. This could be a combination of various unrelated pieces of furniture that are intended to express a certain theme or visual appearance, or a specific set of related items identified by Square Enix for its visual effects.

Fashion Accessories 		Fashion Accessories are cosmetic/glamour accessories. Unlike gear, Fashion Accessories are not equipped via the equipment menu, but are rather additional items accessed via the dedicated Fashion Accessory menu. Only one can be used at one time.
