Prerequisities[edit]
- Disciple of Hand or Land at Level 80.
- Completion of Towards the Firmament.
Stage 1 (iLvl 475)[edit]
This questline starts in Ishgard where you can find a Skysteel Engineer with the Mislaid Plans quest.
After completing the quest, speak with Neillemard to begin Work It Harder, Make It Better.
In order to complete this quest, you must use the Skysteel tool given to you at the end of Mislaid Plans to obtain augment your tool and upgrade into a Dragonsung tool.
How this is achieved varies based on whether your tool is a Disciple of the Hand or Disciple of the Land tool.
This process is repeatable, once Mislaid Plans is completed, additional Skysteel tools can be purchased from Denys for 80,000 gil.
Disciple of the Hand[edit]
Disciples of the Hand must craft Oddly Specific items using their Skysteel tool. These products are turned in to Denys to augment and upgrade their tool. These products each require one Oddly Specific material which can be purchased from Scrip Exchange vendors for 25 White Scrips, as well one other material to create. Each tool requires 50 products total, so each tool costs a minimum of 1250 White Scrips to complete.
Augment Tool[edit]
In order to augment your tool, you must craft 20 of the appropriate product using your Skysteel tool.
Dragonsung Tool[edit]
After obtaining your augmented Skysteel tool, you must craft 30 of the appropriate product using your augmented Skysteel tool.
Disciple of the Land[edit]
Disciples of the Land must venture into the world to gather Oddly Specific items. These items are turned in to Denys to augment and upgrade their tool. Miners and Botanists must gather items as well as hidden items of any quality. Fishers need only gather catches, however they must also purchase Signature Skyballs from Denys for 100 gil each to use as bait for their catches. Finally, unlike Disciples of the Hand, the gathering for Disciples of the Land may be done using any tool.
Augment Tool[edit]
In order to augment your tool, as a Miner or Botanist, you must gather 340 regular items and 120 hidden items. Fishers must gather 40 of their catch.
Dragonsung Tool[edit]
After obtaining your augmented Skysteel tool, you must gather 510 regular items and 180 hidden items. Fishers must gather 60 of their catch. The Minining and Botany items can be gathered in one of two locations, while the Fishing item can only be gathered in one spot.
Stage 2 (iLvl 500)[edit]
Speak to Neillemard to begin In Everyone's Best Interests. Once completed, speak with Nimie to begin Ever Skyward on the job you wish to augment the tool of. To finish the quest, you must obtain pots of the appropriate Gobbiegoo.
Disciple of the Hand[edit]
Disciples of the Hand must obtain pots of Gobbiegoo to augment then upgrade their Dragonsung Tools to Skysung Tools. In total, 90 Gobbiegoo and 105 Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo is required for this step. Gobbiegoo is obtained by turning in Collectable Oddly Specific products. The Oddly Specific products still require Oddly Specific materials, which cost 30 White Scrips or 20 Skybuilders' Scrips each. To obtain the appropriate amount of Gobbiegoo and Viscous Gobbiegoo, you must create a minimum of 39 products, for a total cost of 1170 White Scrips or 780 Skybuilders' Scrips.
Augment Tool[edit]
You can obtain up to 5 Gobbiegoo for products with a Collectability rating of 720. Your products will once again be exchanged at Denys for your Gobbiegoo.

Each product requires 2 of the other material this time. To obtain 90 Gobbiegoo, you must craft a minimum of 18 products with a Collectability rating of 720. When finished, return to Nimie to obtain your Augmented Dragonsung Tool.
Skysung Tool[edit]
Speak to Nimie to begin The Tools of Tomorrow. This time, you will need to craft products to turn in for Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo. You can obtain up to 5 Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo for products with a Collectability rating of 800. Your products will once again be exchanged at Denys for your Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo.

Materials are down to 1 normal material once more. To obtain 105 Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo, you must craft a minimum of 21 products with a Collectability rating of 800. When finished, return to Nimie to obtain your Skysung Tool.
Disciple of the Land[edit]
Disciples of the Land must venture into the world to gather Oddly Specific items. These items are turned in to Denys to obtain Gobbiegoo to augment and upgrade their tool. Miners and Botanists must gather both regular and hidden items. Fishers must purchase Signature Skyballs from Denys for 100 gil each to use as bait for their catches. This time, Disciples of the Land must use their Dragonsung tools to obtain their materials.

In order to augment your tool, as a Miner or Botanist, you must collect 50 pots of Gobbiegoo. Each pot of Gobbiegoo can be obtained from Denys in exchange for 10 Oddly Specific items. In total, Miners and Botanists must gather 500 Oddly Specific items and 180 hidden items to be turned in alongside the Gobbiegoo. Fishers must only obtain 6 pots of Gobbiegoo, as such they only require 60 catches. When finished, return to Nimie to upgrade your Dragonsung Tool. The Mining and Botany items may be gathered in one of two locations, while the Fishing item can only be gathered in one spot.

Skysung Tool[edit]
Speak to Nimie to begin The Tools of Tomorrow. In order to upgrade your tool, as a Miner or Botanist, you must collect 60 pots of Highly Viscous Goobiegoo. Each pot of Highly Viscous Goobiegoo can be obtained from Denys in exchange for 10 Oddly Specific items. In total, Miners and Botanists must gather 600 Oddly Specific items and 200 hidden items to be turned in alongside the Highly Viscous Goobiegoo. Fishers must only obtain 7 pots of Highly Viscous Gobbiegoo, as such they only require 70 catches. When finished, return to Nimie to obtain your Skysung Tool. The Minining and Botany items may be gathered in one of two locations, while the Fishing item can only be gathered in one spot.

Stage 3 (iLvl 510)[edit]
Speak to Neillemard to begin Oddness in the End. Once completed, speak with Emeny to begin The Pinnacle of Possibility on the job you wish to augment the tool of. To finish the quest, you must obtain appropriate Oddly Delicate parts.
Note: Only completing the aforementioned quest teaches you the necessary recipes and makes the materials available from Enie.
Disciple of the Hand[edit]
Disciples of the Hand must obtain Oddly Delicate Parts to upgrade their Skysung Tools to Skybuilders' tools. In total, 60 Parts are required for this step. Parts are obtained by turning in Collectable Oddly Delicate products. The Oddly Delicate products require Oddly Delicate materials, which cost 45 White Scrips or 30 Skybuilders' Scrips each, in addition to requiring Grade 4 Skybuilders materials. To obtain the appropriate amount of Oddly Delicate Parts, you must create a minimum of 20 products, for a total cost of 900 White Scrips or 600 Skybuilders' Scrips.
Skybuilders' Tool[edit]
You can obtain up to 3 Parts for products with a Collectability rating of 1230. Your products can be exchanged at Spanner for your Parts.

Each product requires 5 of two additional Grade 4 Artisanal Skybuilders' materials this time. To obtain 60 Parts, you must craft a minimum of 20 products with a Collectability rating of 1230. When finished, return to Emeny to obtain your Skybuilders' Tool.
Disciple of the Land[edit]
Disciples of the Land must venture into the world to gather Oddly Delicate items. These items are turned in to Spanner to obtain Parts to upgrade their tool. Miners and Botanists must gather regular items as well as Collectable items. Fishers need only gather Collectable catches, however they must also purchase Signature Skyballs from Denys for 100 gil each to use as bait for their catches. This time, Disciples of the Land must use their Skysung tools to obtain their materials.
Skybuilders' Tool[edit]
For Miner and Botanist, you can obtain up to 7 Oddly Delicate Parts for products with a Collectability rating of 1000. For Fisher, it's a variable amount depending on the fish; please see the respective fish page for details.

In order to upgrade your tool, as a Miner or Botanist, you must collect 250 Oddly Delicate Parts and 25 Inconceivably Delicate Parts. Each Part can be obtained from Spanner, with Oddly Delicate Parts for Miner and Botanist requiring a minimum of 36 Oddly Delicate Collectables and Inconceivably Delicate Parts requiring 750 Oddly Delicate items. Fisher requires a minimum of 50 Oddly Delicate Collectables of each type. When finished, return to Emeny to upgrade your Skysung Tool. Unlike previous steps, each of the items for Miner, Botanist, and Fisher come from two different areas (one item in one area, another item in another area.)
