Family Categories[edit]

Added rodent to list of families put a verification tag on it but feel confadent with Rat comes rodent lol.--Zeedee 20:11, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

They might also just be included in the 'beastkin' category (assuming it exists and that's what it's called - it would encompass most (more or less) real animals). Unknown 20:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I have solved this dilemma, since there is unlikely to be a wide variety of rodents, I have put all rodents into the subspecies of Beastkin, as squirrels, marmots, and rats alike, all use the same basic model. I've also consolidated other species that use the same basic model (such as weevils and ladybugs are both now in 'beetle'). I think this should be made the typical standard for all mobs. The different distinct groups should probably be added as subspecies for any groups where this is done. -Unknown 17:41, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Superfamily Names[edit]

Did these categories/"superfamilies" come from the .dats or something in-game? I do know some items mention vilekin. I'm just curious since coblyns don't seem to really fit into anything that well. (Soulkin seems the best fit.) I'm guessing there's at least one more for amorphs/oozes/aberrations/etc. like flans (in the .dats and mentioned in-game), which I think would fit coblyns. Superfamily categories have come from in-game mentions by NPCs, item descriptions, levequest descriptions, and the 'Eluder' abilities (except for 'Dragonkin' and 'Fomor' which are user added and may end up being removed when the creatures in them are discovered to be in other categories - which is why they have a verification tag). The verifications tags on families are for creatures that seem to fit the category but haven't specifically been mentioned as being in the category. On the description of the categories it's because the description is our best guess of what fits in the category - the tags will be removed when there is enough information to be certain/the guess is confirmed to be accurate. -Unknown 17:41, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, since nothing in the game suggests the superfamilies dragonkin and fomors exist, it is safe to assume that they are apart of an existing kin. Also, looking at the Spoken Eluder icon makes me think that beast tribes (and the 5 races?) are the "Spoken". Thoughts? Pokan 12:37, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Hard to say. If I had to guess I would say it would be magical constructs/summons (not summons summons but maybe elementals). It's probably best to wait to put things in that category until we get some in-game hints. -Unknown 16:13, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
