Entering the Diadem

To enter the Diadem, speak with Aurvael in the Firmament (X:10.8 Y:14.0).

Note: Make sure that you have already talked to Enie about Scrip Exchange (X: 12.0 Y:14.0), and Flotpassant about Resource Inspection (X: 10.8 Y:14.1) to unlock the Diadem quest from Aurvael.

Gathering

Gathering in the Diadem is different than gathering in the open world. The miner and botanist gathering nodes are in chains of 8 nodes: a node must be completely depleted before the next one in the chain becomes available. There are two strategies for gathering in the Diadem:

1. Follow the chains around the entire map (miner nodes spawn clockwise, botanist nodes counterclockwise from the entrance island).
2. Gather one specific chain of 8 nodes, then fly back to the 1st node in the chain and repeat.

Fishing in the Diadem works the same as anywhere else. There is a Mender NPC on the entrance island who sells bait for catching Diadem fish.

Special Weather Conditions

Some items can only be gathered under certain weather conditions. Should such conditions occur, it is the ideal time to seek out these rare items.

Aetheromatic Auger

During forays to the Diadem, you will gain access to the duty action Aetheromatic Auger. In order to perform the action, you must first increase the auger's store of compressed aether by gathering as a miner or botanist 40 times for each use. When you have enough compressed aether, you may expend it to unleash a powerful attack against an enemy.
Sprites will drop shards, crystals and clusters. Other mobs will drop crafting materials used in restoration recipes, with each mob having a unique drop table.

Item Inspection

Flotpassant in the Firmament (X:10.8 Y:14.0) will inspect items gathered in the Diadem. Upon inspection, skybuilders' scrips are awarded according to the number of items and their type. Inspected items can be used in Ishgardian Restoration crafting recipes or sold on the market. Fish can be desynthesized into crafting materials after inspection.
