Species Description: These canine scavengers are endemic to the island of Vylbrand. Their sense of smell is such that a pack of jackals can detect a fresh animal carcass from a distance of several malms, and locate it with unerring accuracy. While jackals are content to feed on carrion, pangs of hunter will occasionally spur these ordinarily indolent hunters into bringing down live prey. The mainland is home to a hybrid species of jackal that shares parentage with wild dogs. Genus Description: These ferocious beastkin roam all corners of Eorzea. Often hunted for their fangs and pelts, these beasts are both profitable and deadly for adventurers to face.
