(Redirected from Duty Finder)
Duty Finder Icon.png
Duties are instanced content, generally accessed via the Duty Finder, whereby you will be matched with other players, from across servers, who are looking to challenge the same content. Once initiated, a duty must be completed (or abandoned).

Many duties are also assigned to a category of Duty roulette icon.png Duty Roulette, which will randomly place the party into an appropriate level duty and, upon completion, issue a reward of XP and currencies.

Duties can be loosely divided into the following subcategories.

Type Description
Dungeon Icon.png
Dungeons.
"Dungeons" are instanced zones with powerful monsters and treasures. Typically a dungeon will involve navigating through a zone filled with enemies, with intermittent boss enemies. Many dungeons require prerequisites to be fulfilled before they can be entered. In the event one or more members of the party have yet to clear the instance, all party members will receive a bonus upon completion.

Trials.
"Trials" are instanced zones with powerful monsters and treasures. They consist of one area and usually one main enemy, albeit sometimes with adds. Many trials require prerequisites to be fulfilled before they can be entered. In the event one or more members of the party have yet to clear the instance, all party members will receive a bonus upon completion.

Raids.
"Raids" are instanced zones with powerful monsters and treasures. Typically a raid will involve a series of rooms filled with boss enemies. Many raids require prerequisites to be fulfilled before they can be entered. In the event one or more members of the party have yet to clear the instance, all party members will receive a bonus upon completion.
Variant Dungeonicon.png
Variant & Criterion Dungeons.
"Variant Dungeons" are instanced zones where players will follow several story threads as they explore various routes in the underground waterways of Sil'dih with a certain someone.

Criterion Dungeons are harder versions of variant dungeons, roughly equivalent to extreme trials, with the savage versions being roughly equivalent to savage raids. For both forms, party composition is fixed to 1 tank, 1 healer, and 2 DPS and unlike the variant dungeon version, there is only one route and no accompanying NPC.

Eureka
Additional, instanced, battle content requiring multiple people and/or parties. Popular duties include The Aquapolis, Palace of the Dead, Eureka and Heaven-on-High.

Guildhests.
Guildhests are a form of Duty designed for party play. They are the most similar to Guildleves, though there is no "guildhest allotment." Guildhests are unlocked by completing a lower level guildhest, with the exception of Basic Training: Enemy Parties that is unlocked from the beginning. Guildhests provide a variety of challenges, from defeating powerful bosses, to breaching enemy strongholds. They can be accessed through the duty finder.

Player Versus Player.
Frontline
The Wolves' Den
PvP Armor
Player Versus Player (Commonly read as PvP) duties are events where players are not all fighting on the same side. Generally these are competitive events where the goal is for a player or team of players to get kills, complete an objective, or do something else before the opposing players accomplish the same goal. Unlike other quests or battles, the enemies you face here are other players, who will typically behave very differently from A.I. controlled monsters.

Hall of the Novice.
Upon reaching level 15 with at least one Disciple of War or Magic, players can speak with the Smith NPC located at the Adventurers' Guild in each city and several other locations to register for Hall of the Novice training. Training is mainly undertaken based on role, although certain training sessions will also differ based on the job selected.
