Eden's Gate: Descent.png
Having finally overcome Eden in a battle of wills, Ryne is now in control of the enormous sin eater, which now drifts high above the Empty. Your celebrations are short-lived, however, as Ryne detects the presence of unknown enemies making their way towards Eden's core. While Thancred and Urianger rush to intercept a swarm of foes approaching from inside, you head to the upper reaches to face the threat from the above.

Objectives
  1. Defeat Voidwalker: 0/1
Voidwalker
Divider3.png
Voidwalker has only 1 phase, during which he uses the following moves and mechanics.

Phase 1

Attack Name Description
Nyx Summoned in specific patterns for Doomvoid Guillotine and Doomvoid Slicer. Being in contact with one applies an Infirmity debuff and deals continuous minor damage.
Doomvoid Guillotine The boss uses a long line AoE down his center that is as wide as his hitbox. After use, summons ~7 Nyx adds in place of the AoE that alternate directions faced. They will then move in a straight line left or right, depending on which way they are facing.
Doomvoid Slicer The boss does a massive donut AoE, with the safe spot being in his hitbox or at max cast distance. After use, summons 4 Nyx adds at a distance to the boss' front, sides, and back. They will slowly move towards him. Players need to sidestep into one of the four gaps left between them to avoid being hit.
Shadowflame Tankbuster. Hits both tanks. If one tank is dead, hits a random DPS instead. Deals moderate damage.
Spell-in-Waiting Delays next ability cast for a certain amount of time. Affects Dark Fire III, Unholy Darkness, and Shadoweye. A large marker with the icon for these abilities will appear above the targets head. At 5 seconds, it will be replaced with a large countdown that ticks out the remaining time.
Dark Fire III Marks ~4 players with large purple AoE circles. Can be affected by Spell-in-Waiting.
Unholy Darkness Obvious stack mechanic. Requires at least 3 players to survive. Can be affected by Spell-in-Waiting.
Shadoweye Gaze mechanic. Look away from target player. Can be affected by Spell-in-Waiting.
Entropy Arena-wide AoE damage.
The Hand of Erebos A giant hand appears on the East or West side of the arena and a purple tether attaches to the boss. Uses the following abilities:
  • Empty Hate: Displays a knockback pattern on the floor pointing away from the hand. Players must stand on the side closest to the hand to avoid being knocked off the side. Pushes players about ~90% of the arena. Knockback immunity works on this.
Punishing Ray Summons 5 meteor circles on the ground. At least one player must be standing in each to avoid arena-wide AoE damage and a stacking Diabolic Curse debuff (increases damage taken). Standing in the puddle applies a Bleed DoT that deals minor damage and deals moderate damage when the meteor goes off.

Advice and Tips

  • Understanding how Spell-in-Waiting works will trivialize the rest of the fight, as that is the most complex mechanic you need to deal with. Just keep an eye on your debuff timer to see when the ability you have will go off and adjust accordingly.
  • You can use knockback immunity for Empty Hate so you don't need to move.
  • Punishing Ray will often be accompanied by The Hand of Erebos; deal with Empty Hate first before you adjust to stand in the puddles.
