Action

Executes the party's Limit Break. The effect varies based on the role of the party member who activates it:
Tank: Reduces damage received by party.
Healer: Area of Effect HP/MP restoration to party (Resurrection at level 3.)
Melee DPS: Single-target attack.
Ranged Physical DPS:[1] Attack done in a straight line from in front the player.
Ranged Magic DPS: AoE attack in a circular area.

Notes

  • Limit Break is a Light Party or Full Party (4 or 8 player) ability. It can only be used after the Limit Break Gauge has at least one segment filled. The length of the Limit Break gauge depends on the type of party:
  • Light party: 1 segment (2 segments during major boss fights.)
  • Full Party: 2 segments (3 segments during major boss fights.)
  • The more segments of the gauge that are filled, the more potent the resulting effect will be. The Limit Break gauge will fill slower when multiple characters are playing the same class/job in the same party.
  • The Limit Break gauge will completely empty at the start of any major boss fight in a Raid.
  • The Cast Time and Recast Time (cooldown) of the Tank and DPS Limit Breaks vary depending on which level of attack is performed. All Healer-based Limit Breaks have a 2 second Cast and a 20 second Recast time.
  1. Prior to patch 3.0, Archers and Bards used the Healer-type Limit Breaks, but now have their own unique abilities which deal damage (the 'level 2' of which is shared with the Machinist.)
