Etymology

In various folklore puck is a mythological fairy or mischievous nature sprite. In Friesland, it was called Puk. In Latvian myth, Pukis is a flying household spirit that brings its master stolen items. Puk was also a thieving small dragon in Germany and the Baltic states.
