Divine Chronicles

The Divine Chronicles, as they are known colloquially by those who study them, are a collection of writings by the prophetess Mezaya Thousand Eyes. Each verse seems to refer to the events of a single Astral / Umbral Era pairing. It was long believed that, because six verses had already passed, and there are only six elements to be represented, the wheel of death and rebirth had ceased to turn. This belief was called into question when a grizzled old huntsman stumbled upon the seventh verse written on a slab of stone inside of a cave, leading some to correctly infer that the Seventh Umbral Era would come to pass. The known verses are as follows.

Sixth Verse[edit]

Text[edit]

Ne'er till astral hopes dim can umbral dreads fear,
Waters spout silver swords, skies rain blue spears.
By ancient truths shall Archons carve men of stone,
Foe blades chip and shatter, great victories be known.

Interpretation[edit]

Seventh Verse[edit]

Text[edit]

Ne'er till land consumes sun can sea bear moons,
Heavens spew crimson flame, hells seep black dooms.
Stray seeds quicken in ash's gray embrace,
Valiant blades forged under the Twelve's good grace.

Seven waning moons see seven suns rise,
Divine order roils, fallen corpses writhe.
Souls from aether far, strangers from strange lands,
Yester with thine eyes, morrow by thine hands.
