Koshu is the largest island on the archipelago of Hingashi. It is home to its capital, Bukyo and controlled by the bakufu government. Daitenzan, a volcanic mountain, dominates its scenery. Trade from Koshu passes through Kugane, the only port in the region in which foreign trade is permitted.
