| An abandoned village that became the location of a Garlean weapon site. Twenty years ago, a group of prisoners was relocated here to test the Black Rose chemical weapon, one that would leave buildings untouched while killing anyone it came into contact with. The tests were a success, but the project was shut down before it was ever deployed in combat. Gaius van Baelsar, Legatus of the XIVth Imperial Legion and interim leader of the Ala Mhigan province, would not allow the senseless murders of Eorzea's people as he saw them as future subjects of the empire to be ruled. Everything of the Black Rose project was destroyed, except for some final samples that Grillairmais, the man behind the project, ran away with as he did not want to see his work wasted. He had gone mad though, and despite being tortured he could not tell the Garleans where he hid the samples.[1] |
