I am Lolorito. You have heard of me, yes? All in Ul'dah have.

I am the proprietor of the East Aldenard Trading Company. You are familiar with Sunsilk Tapestries? Eshtaime's Aesthetics? Both belong to me.

I do not discriminate where wealth is concerned. I have dealings even with merchants of the Empire. Through them my influence reaches the Garlean elite, with whom I thought it possible to negotiate a peace.

Alas, their leaders are set upon the complete annihilation of Eorzea. A point upon which there is scarce room for compromise.

Once the truth of this became apparent, we Monetarists granted our support to Raubahn and his Immortal Flames. But our largess extends no further than our borders. We will not finance the whims of the other nations.

Biography
The foremost member of the Monetarists, Lolorito Nanarito began his career as a porter with the caravans. With time, he created the East Aldenard Trading Company, and his fortune is now so vast as to be uncountable. At the time he began focusing his business on overland trading, he is reputed to have made the acquaintance of the Garlean elite, and even explored this connection as a means of making peace with the Empire. It is widely assumed that these overtures must have ended in failure, however, as Lolorito is known to have proffered his full support in the establishment of the Immortal Flames.

Those who study Lolorito's character are often perplexed, as he is a man who defies easy description. On the one hand, he is ruthless, and not above consorting with criminals in the name of profit. On the other hand, he has also shown himself willing to donate half of his (uncountable) wealth should his native Ul'dah have need of it.

As a wealthy man of the Dunesfolk, Lolorito has developed a taste for the finer things over his sixty-four years. His particular passion is food, and he has such exacting tastes that he is known in some circles playfully as "Chefsbane."

Edit Lolorito's Notes

Notes: * The East Aldenard Trading Company owns Eshtaime's Aesthetics, Sunsilk Tapestries, and the Jolly Raptor. After the Calamity, he purchased Romululu's Bric-a-Brac, which has since been repurposed for use by Sunsilk Tapestries. It has also established contracts with foreign arms distributors such as Gigas Forge, Straight Edge Traders, and Woolvale Arms.

  • Lolorito is a notoriously picky gourmand known to use his influence to ruin restaurants that fail to satisfy his rarified needs. [1]
  • For a time, Lord Lolorito offered a hefty bounty for those who could bring him the elusive matron carp. However, the man soon grew weary of fish, and promptly withdrew his offer.
